While the RI does not formally work with children or vulnerable adults, we are committed to creating a safe environment for everyone who engages with us, especially during public exhibitions and events.

Who This Applies To

• This policy covers all RI Members and volunteers participating in RI events or representing the RI.

Our Key Safeguarding Guidelines

• Children and vulnerable adults must always be accompanied by a responsible adult at any RI event.

• RI Members and volunteers must not engage in private or unsupervised contact with vulnerable individuals.

• We must be notified in advance if a vulnerable adult wishes to take part in any RI activity, so we can make appropriate arrangements.

What to Do If You Have a Concern

• Do not investigate the issue yourself.

• Report concerns immediately to an RI Council Member.

• Write down key facts as soon as possible.

• All concerns are taken seriously and treated confidentially.

• We aim to foster a professional, respectful, and secure space for everyone. We review this policy annually to ensure it reflects current best practice and legal requirements.
